What is Wilderness Wildlife Week in Pigeon Forge?

Smoky Mountain WildlifeWilderness Wildlife Week is a unique Pigeon Forge event that invites families and guests from all across the country to come to the area once a year to learn more about the history, culture and nature of what makes the Great Smoky Mountains National Park so wonderful. This includes musical performances, demonstrations, presentations, entertaining classes, and more.

Some of the performances and presentations typically offered at Wilderness Wildlife Week in Pigeon Forge include:

  • Nature Photography Workshop
  • Fly Fishing in the Smokies
  • Nature Writing
  • Hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park
  • History of the Smoky Mountains and the Civil War

Are there any activities for kids?
All the fun and games scheduled for Wilderness Wildlife Week in Pigeon Forge aren’t just for adults. Organizers also have a ton of festive kid-only activities on their schedule. From arts and crafts to storytelling, there is an exciting activity that every child will enjoy.

Some of the kid-specific activities that have traditionally been part of Wilderness Wildlife Week include:

The best part about the kids’ activities is that they are scheduled the same time as the other lectures. This way parents can enjoy their favorite programs while their children are enjoying theirs.

When is Wilderness Wildlife Week?

Wilderness Wildlife Week will be held May 9 -13. The Information Desk will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and the Vendor/Exhibit Hall will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Finally, one of our favorite parts about Wilderness Wildlife Week is that it is a completely FREE Pigeon Forge event.

Where is Wilderness Wildlife Week in Pigeon Forge held?

Wilderness Wildlife Week will be held at the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge. This excellent convention center has become one of the more popular group and event destinations in the Smoky Mountains.

There will also be a few guided hiking trips scheduled to take place in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. For visitors interested in participating in the guided hikes, a shuttle service will be provided.

For those of you who have not yet had the chance to visit the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge, it is located in between Teaster Lane and the Parkway in Pigeon Forge. It shares a parking lot with the The Island.
