How Far Apart Are Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg?
One of the most commonly asked questions by visitors: “How far apart are the two towns of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg?” Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are both bustling towns near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Some visitors get the two areas confused or are unsure about making the drive back and forth.
Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg actually sit right next to one another, with a road that links the two towns together. The distance between the two towns is only about five miles, so the drive back and forth isn’t difficult or lengthy. The car ride is smooth and short, so families won’t have to worry about finding a way to keep kids happy along the drive.
When you are visiting one of the towns, you won’t have to plan for too much extra time to make it to a restaurant or attraction in the neighboring area. Many visitors do plan their vacation so they do not have to drive back and forth throughout their trip. For example, visitors will plan to spend the first part of their trip in Pigeon Forge while spending the second part of their vacation enjoying the Gatlinburg attractions.
For one of the easiest routes, you can continue on the road into the mountains directly from the Pigeon Forge Parkway. The scenery through the mountains is beautiful, especially in the fall when the leaves begin to change colors from green to bright shades of red, yellow and orange. This makes the drive back and forth through the towns much more beautiful. No matter where you choose to stay, the scenic Great Smoky Mountains National Park is just around the corner from Pigeon Forge and downtown Gatlinburg.
