Spring Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament April 6-7
Presented by the Rocky Top Outfitters it the 14th annual Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament. Held in the spring from April 6th – 7th, 2013, this major event attracts fishermen and visitors from across the country to compete for winning titles, amazing prices and an overall enjoyable experience with others who have the same interests and hobbies. This fun and exciting event welcomes visitors and participants of all types and ages including children, adults, locals and tourists. Before the start of this 2-day event, more than 10,000 are stocked in over 20 miles of streams that will be used for tournament fishing. Head to the Smoky Mountains, show off your fishing skills and you may be lucky enough to take home a portion of over $10,000 in cash and prizes.
Registering for the Event
Those who are interested in participating in this major Gatlinburg, Tennessee event can register in advance for their spot in the competition. Fishers are welcome to register by phone, mail, online or in person at Smoky Mountain Angler on the East Parkway in Gatlinburg’s Winery Square. Tournament Prizes
Prizes will be handed out to those who win in various aspects of the Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament such as catching the most trout, the largest trout and the smallest trout. Other prizes may be awarded in special drawings held throughout the duration of the event. Some amazing prizes include $500 for the largest trout, $500 for the smallest trout, trophies, gift certificates to local area shops, fishing equipment, complimentary hotel stays and passes to nearby attractions such as Dollywood and the Dixie Stampede. Additional prizes will be announced during the festivities.
Event Rules
While many come out to the Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament to enjoy their favorite sport and hobby, there are some rules that must be taken into consideration to compete in the event and claim prizes. One hand-held rod and single hook only is permitted at the event. No fishing can be done before or after the event on event days and as stated. Only trout will be weighed and no other fish will count in the tournament. All trout caught in the competition must be weighed at Patriot Park, Pigeon Forge, traffic light #7.
