Smoky Mountain Winterfest is one of the biggest celebrations in Sevier County, TN. The area is decorated with more than 5 million twinkling lights and Christmas displays. Millions of Lights
The Island in Pigeon Forge is decorated in millions of beautiful Christmas lights that come to life when the sun goes down. Nothing will get you into the holiday spirit more than seeing its 23 acres illuminated in holiday colors. You can admire the decorations as you relax in the chairs around The Island Show Fountain, or stroll through the Market Street to see all the festive decorations.
The Fountain Winterfest Show
Each year, The Island Courtyard comes to life with a beautiful show filled with 40-foot high trees and a lovely fountain show. The lights and water from the fountain choreograph into an incredible show that you will not want to miss! The opening night of Winterfest is November 19th and the fountain show will continue all the way until January 5th with four shows a night!
Live Music
Speaking of Christmas tunes, The Island in Pigeon Forge is one of the best places to see live music year round, but especially during the holidays! You can hear live music daily on the outdoor stage outside of Ole Smoky Moonshine, and during the holiday season, you can enjoy some fantastic Christmas music from some of the most talented performers in the area! There will also be a live performance from the Knoxville Streamliners on opening night to perform all your holiday favorites.

Of course it wouldn’t be a holiday celebration without the big man in red making an appearance! Throughout Winterfest at The Island, you can meet Santa Claus and get your picture taken with him. Make your way to the breezeway behind the Island Show Fountains to see a modern-day Santa’s Workshop and be greeted by the jolly good fellow himself! The first day to catch Santa at The Island will be November 19th at 3 PM.
