3. They Have a New Year’s Eve Show
Not only does Smoky Mountain Opry have a Christmas show, but there is a special New Year’s Eve Show too! The show itself is the Christmas performance, but that’s not all that happens on this incredible night. The evening begins with a performance of “Christmas at the Smoky Mountain Opry.” When the clock strikes midnight, you can watch the ball drop in New York City’s Times Square on the big screen and witness the biggest midnight balloon drop in the area! You’ll love being able to party the night away with the Smoky Mountain Opry cast and dance to a live show band.
4. Opened as Smoky Mountain Opry in 2012
This Pigeon Forge theater wasn’t always the Smoky Mountain Opry! In fact, the theater itself opened in 1997 as a stage for country singer Louise Mandrell. Then, in 2005, The Fee Hedrick Family Entertainment Group bought the theater. It reopened in 2006 as The Miracle Theater, which featured a musical about the life of Jesus Christ. It wasn’t until March 15, 2012 that the theater re-opened as the Smoky Mountain Opry. Since then, it has been home to this incredible show!
