Now, the distillers are using their skills to produce hand sanitizer! The hand sanitizer is being distributed in 5-gallon commercial grade pails to local police and sheriff departments, as well as first responders. The distillery has also begun making smaller jars that will be distributed to Ole Smoky employees and their families, and as production increases, to customers through online ordering. With each online order of your favorite Ole Smoky Moonshine and Whiskey product, you’ll get a free jar of hand sanitizer.

Not only is Ole Smoky the leading distiller of premium moonshine in the world, it’s also the first federally licensed distillery in the history of East Tennessee. Ole Smoky has 3 different locations in the Smoky Mountain area: The Barn at The Island, The Holler in Gatlinburg and The Barrelhouse in Gatlinburg. Each location offers their signature flavors, like White Lightnin’ Moonshine, Apple Pie Moonshine and Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

Old Forge Distillery

The Old Forge Distillery opened its doors in 2014 with its own line of moonshine. The moonshine at this Smoky Mountain distillery is distilled using freshly ground grain from The Old Mill. Now, instead of just moonshine, the distillery is making hand sanitizer. Old Forge Distillery has partnered with the Pottery House Cafe, also a part of The Old Mill District, to provide a bottle of hand sanitizer with every to-go order. The company is also working with area businesses, organizations and health facilities to provide hand sanitizer in bulk, as well as cleaning solutions.

The Old Forge Distillery is just steps away from The Old Mill and is named after the iron forge that was built by one of the area’s early settlers. The head distiller crafts small-batch spirits in the copper column stills, including flavored moonshines inspired by recipes from The Old Mill Kitchens, like French Toast.

Junction 35 Spirits

The Pigeon Forge distillery has been brewing up custom hand sanitizers made with their own vodka. With every online order you make, you’ll receive a bottle of their hand sanitizer.

Junction 35 Spirits is located in The Tower Shops on Teaster Lane. They offer a variety of spirits, including bourbon, rye whiskey, moonshine, vodka, gin and rum. You can also choose one of their hand-crafted cocktails! The company’s “white dog whiskey” is the base of all its spirits, and is known for its cinnamon and vanilla notes. The lead distiller says that anything under 70 proof is just a mixed drink, so their Original Moonshine is 100 proof and all flavors are 70 proof.
