You’ve heard what they say: records are meant to be broken. Pigeon Forge certainly got the memo! Soar Through the Smokies
For those who dare to defy gravity, WildSide has a treat for you! The longest continuous zip line in the country, stretching for over a full mile, will provide guests with one-of-a-kind thrills, scenic views and memories that they’ll hold onto for years to come.
This new zip line at WildSide will be known as the Mega Zip. It will span for 5,771 feet, offering unmatched views of the natural beauty of the Smokies below! Starting at an elevation of 2,472 feet above sea level, adventure enthusiasts will experience a drop of more than 1,000 feet from start to finish on the Mega Zip!
The Mega Zip is slated to open in the spring of 2025 at WildSide, which opened its doors as one of Pigeon Forge’s newest outdoor attractions in July of 2024. It will be nearly 250 feet longer than the current longest zip line in America, the Catamonster Zip, which is located at Catamount Mountain Resort in Hillsdale, New York.
Everything to Know About WildSide
Have you had a chance to visit WildSide yet? If not, we’re happy to share more about what you can expect when you check out this first-of-its-kind attraction in the Smokies.
The Pigeon Forge adventure park gives its guests the opportunity to explore the wild side of the Smokies! What does that mean exactly? Well, you can leave the trails that are so popular in the Smokies for the path less traveled! Explore 900 acres of wilderness on 7 miles of mountain biking trails and 9 miles of utility task vehicle (UTV) trails that give you a chance to see the magic of the Smokies up close and personal.
This unique attraction is a favorite since similar adventures aren’t commonly available within the confines of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Only the Gatlinburg Trail, the lower Deep Creek Trail and the Oconaluftee Trail allow bicycles within the national park. UTVs are permitted on national park roads, but trails are few and far between.
You have the option to bring your own bike to WildSide or rent one of the Pigeon Forge adventure park’s pedal-assisted electric mountain bikes or a manual bike. There’s even a jump track and a slalom course for bikers to test their skills! The attraction offers professionally guided UTV rides for those who want to get muddy. All that’s required to ride a UTV is a valid driver’s license and those under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
