SkyFly: Soar America is Officially Open
SkyFly: Soar America is now officially open for guests to experience! This dynamic flying attraction allows guests to experience the feeling of flight as they soar over iconic locations throughout the United States. In addition to seeing some incredible places on the ride, you’ll also get to experience smells and sounds like you never have before! As you make your way through the building to get on the ride, there are a few surprises along the way that help build your excitement for the SkyFly: Soar America experience. People of all ages can enjoy this ride, and you’ll experience state-of-the-art technology to see some amazing places in America in an unforgettable way!
More About the Flying Attraction at The Island in Pigeon Forge
Since you know what to expect when you ride SkyFly, we want to share a little more information about this exciting attraction! The Island teamed up with Dynamic Attractions to build the ride, a company who is responsible for the Soarin’ ride at Epcot in Disney World and other popular theme park rides. This ride’s multi-million-dollar film is custom produced with footage shot by drones and helicopters throughout the country. Along the ride, you’ll be transported to some of America’s most beautiful natural wonders and well-known landmarks. The theater will include sights, sounds, and a wide range of motions, and riders will experience scents and mists during the ride.
The new attraction is between 9,000-10,0000 square feet and located next to the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel and The Island’s show fountain. Bob McManus, president of The Island, said its construction will not affect any store or attraction that’s currently open. The Island hopes this unique ride and film experience will give guests something new to experience when they visit Pigeon Forge.

You can ride both in the day or at night for two different experiences! The all-glass gondolas can seat up to 8 guests, meaning the whole family can ride together.
The Island Show Fountain
You can’t miss The Island Show Fountain that puts on an incredible performance for visitors. You can watch a stunning performance of water dance and light, perfectly choreographed to 14 pieces of music. The fountain operates both during the day and at night, with performances every 30 minutes.
