Relax in one of the rocking chairs around the Island Show Fountain and watch an incredible performance of water dance and light! You’ll also be able to find great deals at the shops. Don’t pass up the opportunity to ride the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, however. For a little over $10, you can enjoy a ride on one of the tallest attractions in the southeast! You’ll have gorgeous views of Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains.

2. Sample Moonshine

Tennessee is known for its moonshine, and you’ll be happy to know that you can sample the best moonshine in town for just $5! Even better news, that $5 can go toward any purchase made at the moonshine distillery! It’s no secret that moonshine tasting is one of the best cheap things to do in Pigeon Forge. Ole Smoky Moonshine is one of the most popular distilleries, and you can visit one of their locations while you’re at The Island. They’re known for their signature moonshine flavors, like White Lightnin’, Apple Pie and Blue Flame. You can also get moonshine cherries and moonshine pickles. Other popular distilleries in Pigeon Forge are Old Forge Distillery, Tennessee Shine Company, and Junction 35 Spirits.

3. Tour the Wineries

Mountain Valley WineryIf you prefer wine over moonshine, take the time to tour some of the wineries in the Pigeon Forge area! Pigeon Forge is home to a number of wineries that offer free tastings, like Hillside Winery and Mountain Valley Winery. We recommend trying the Rocky Top Wine Trail, which includes 5 local wineries in Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. You’ll get free tastings at each one and free gifts after the third and fifth location. Since the tastings are free, you’ll have some money to spend on a bottle to bring back home with you!

4. Visit The Old Mill

The Old Mill is one of the most photographed mills in the country! Built in 1830, the historic mill still operates today. You’ll love visiting and taking a guided tour of the Historic Old Mill and Old Mill Square! You can also enjoy free tastings at Old Forge Distillery, free pottery demonstrations at Pigeon River Pottery and get to see candy, jelly and more being made in the kitchens. You can also enjoy a delicious meal at one of the two restaurants: the Old Mill Restaurant and Pottery House Cafe and Grille for an affordable price.

5. Take Your Kids to Country Tonite

That means your family can enjoy an entertaining show for an affordable price. The show has repeatedly been voted the best show in the Smokies and features singing and dancing, comedy, powerful gospel and more. You don’t have to be a fan of country music to enjoy the show! It’s also the only show in Pigeon Forge with youth performers, so that makes the kids love it even more.

6. Have a Picnic

Another fun thing to do in Pigeon Forge is to have a picnic! Whether you’re visiting with your sweetheart or your family, you’ll love packing a picnic basket with all your favorite foods and heading to Patriot Park for lunch.
