Popular Gatlinburg Attraction Announces Rebrand: Gatlinburg SkyPark
One of Gatlinburg’s most popular scenic attractions has a new name but all the great fun still remains! Gatlinburg SkyPark is the new name of the longest running attraction in Gatlinburg following a recent rebranding process that is set to include the addition of new activities, adventures, dining, entertainment and even more scenic views of the Smoky Mountains! Formerly known as Gatlinburg SkyLift Park, this entertainment venue has been serving up spectacular views of the Smokies since it was founded in 1954. Here is everything to know about Gatlinburg SkyPark:
New Name, Same Scenic Views
Don’t worry! Even though SkyLift is no longer in the name of this Gatlinburg attraction, the SkyLift itself isn’t going anywhere! The Gatlinburg SkyLift is a Smoky Mountain staple and Gatlinburg SkyPark intends to keep it that way! The SkyLift transports visitors from the thick of things in downtown Gatlinburg up to 1,800 feet above sea level to the top of Crockett Mountain, where the popular Gatlinburg SkyBridge is located.
The Gatlinburg SkyBridge is the longest pedestrian cable bridge in all of North America! This experience offers some of the very best views of Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains and was named one of the top 10 most scenic spots in the United States by CBS News! The SkyBridge at Gatlinburg SkyPark spans 700 feet across a deep valley, allowing guests to walk at their own pace, taking in some unbeatable picturesque views.
Situated behind the record-setting SkyBridge is the Gatlinburg SkyTrail. The Gatlinburg SkyTrail is a scenic walkway connecting each end of the SkyBridge that offers guests the opportunity to take a leisurely Smoky Mountain hike while enjoying new views of the world-famous SkyBridge! Climb to the top of Tulip Tower, a 70-foot steel tower in the back of the ravine that can be accessed by 2 rope bridges and 4 elevated viewing platforms!
The SkyDeck amphitheater offers incredible views alongside outdoor seating areas, a tiered waterfall, a fire pit and the SkyCenter building! Visit the Gatlinburg SkyCenter for brews, views and good food! The Gatlinburg SkyCenter is located on the SkyDeck at the top of Crockett Mountain and serves up sweeping panoramic views of Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Additional Plans for Gatlinburg SkyPark
Gatlinburg SkyPark’s rebranding process is set to include new development at the entertainment venue. The park plans to add new adventures and activities, dining options, entertainment and even more sites featuring stunning Smoky Mountain views!
Phase one of the new development on the west side of the Gatlinburg SkyBridge is expected to open in 2024. An experimental ticketing center located at the original Gatlinburg SkyLift Park loading station in downtown is expected to open in the fall.
