Starting out passing a piece of history seeing an old homestead site that was settled before the area became a National Park. You will enjoy plentiful flowering foliage including rhododendrons growing so thickly they form a tunnel over one part of the trail. As being led to grassy meadows along the high elevation with views looking out toward the NC side of the Great Smoky Mountains on your way up.
