Porters Creek Hiking Trail
Porters Creek Hiking Trail located in the Cosby Area off of Greenbrier Road the trail is 4.4 miles long round trip with an elevation gain of 1125' with moderate difficulty rating for hiking abilities and fitness level required. The trail starts out on an old gravel road that leads to a footbridge where the trail leads nearby the remnants of an old farm and homestead that has several buildings still standing as a memory to what was a way of life settling in the mountains. Other highlights of this trail is the multiple footbridges, an abundance of flowering plant life such as yellow trillium and wild geranium, trailing near a stream, and a grand finale of the 60' Fern Branch Falls.
