Mt. LeConte Hiking Trail from Trillium Gap
Mt. LeConte Hiking Trail located off of Roaring Fork Motor Trail is 13.9 miles long round trip with an elevation gain of 3401' with a very strenuous difficulty rating for hiking abilities and fitness level required. The summit of Mt. Leconte is extremely well known for the magnificent view from 6593' it is the third highest peak looking out over the Great Smoky Mountains and offers steep climbs, rocky terrain, and a long distance that is a good challenge even for an experienced hiker. The trail from Trillium Gap will take you past Grotto Falls where you can walk behind the waterfall and with heavy wooded areas surrounding much of the trail offering shade for a large part of your hike. Near the top of the trail is LeConte Lodge and overnight cabins that can be reserved.
