1. Butterfly Mural
If you’ve been to Sevierville, you know how much we love Dolly Parton here! Our Smoky Mountain hometown hero even has her own statue. In addition to the statue, there is also a beautiful butterfly mural inspired by Dolly! The mural, titled “Wings of Wonder,” is about 16 feet high and 20 feet across. It features a large set of butterfly wings with smaller butterflies floating away to the left. The mural can be found near the gazebo in downtown Sevierville TN, on the back of a storage unit owned by Sevier County Bank. Head to the mural next time you’re in town to snap a selfie in front of the wings!
2. Harrisburg Covered Bridge
Have you ever seen the Harrisburg Covered Bridge in Sevierville? This historic covered bridge has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1975. It’s 83 feet long and was once used by locals to cross the East Prong of the Little Pigeon River. The Harrisburg Covered Bridge actually has a unique story to it — it was once washed away during a storm, and the Harrisburg community donated the lumber and labor to rebuild the bridge. Over the years, the community has been the reason the bridge has stayed up and running. The bridge can be found on Old State Highway 35, east of Sevierville off U.S. Highway 441.
3. Moonshine History Tour
Sure, you’ve been to the popular moonshine distilleries in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but have you ever been to the moonshine history tour at Tennessee Shine Co.? This distillery in Sevierville offers a one-of-a-kind tour that teaches you the history of moonshine, how it ties into NASCAR and how it’s made, as well as Tennessee Shine Company.
