Dolly Parton’s “Christmas of Many Colors” TV Movie Nominated for an Emmy
Over the course of her career, Dolly Parton has won nine Grammy Awards and been nominated for two Oscars and a Tony. This September, Dolly might just add an Emmy to her collection! It was recently announced that Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love was nominated for an Emmy Award in the “Outstanding Television Movie” category.
Christmas of Many Colors is the sequel to Dolly’s first TV movie on NBC, Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors. The two-hour film tells a moving holiday story based on actual events from Parton’s childhood. In the movie, Dolly’s father makes sacrifices to save up enough money to finally buy his wife a wedding ring with help from the Parton children. At the same time, Dolly’s Uncle Billy encourages her to develop her musical talent and dream big.
Christmas of Many Colors was a smash hit for NBC, drawing in 11.53 million viewers for its premiere last November. The network is currently developing another TV movie based on one of Dolly’s most famous songs: “Jolene”.
